In my best Chandler Bing voice...

Could it BE any colder out there? Seriously. I can handle cold mostly. It doesn't bother me too much. Excessive heat bothers me, but not really cold. But this kind of cold... no thank you. It was 0 degrees this morning when I went out to clean off the Blazer and warm it up. That's without the wind chill. I waited about a half hour to an hour later than normal to let it warm up from the -2 degrees it was when I was supposed to go out and clean off the car.

Today was trash day. I mentioned it yesterday when I got home from work. It's written on the white board on the refrigerator door... "Trash day is Thursday." No one shoveled the driveway yesterday evening. Not even a little path down to get the trash can to the curb. No one took the trash can down to the curb. Not last night... not this morning. I refused to do it myself this morning because a) Eric was off all flippin' day yesterday doing nothing and b) I'm out there cleaning all the snow off my car this morning in the freezing cold (not an easy task with an SUV) and I'll be damned if I'm going to also be slapped with the task of first making a path for the trash can to the curb and then taking the trash to the curb yet again.

Did I mention that when I got home from work yesterday, I put the trash bags that had been gathering in the garage into the trash can and then came inside and announced that trash day was tomorrow to Eric who was standing in the kitchen? Do I sound peeved? Yep. I'm sorry, but I'm getting tired of doing ALL the work around the house and on my days off, I'm still doing work, but on his days off, he does nothing and then Zach does nothing unless he's told. If I stopped and just let things pile up until they did the stuff (believe me I've done this), then the stuff just piles up until it's totally disgusting and I end up doing it anyway. The trash can business this morning pissed me off. So I left it at the top of the driveway, didn't take it to the curb, and it won't get picked up today even though it's full. I did it on purpose and I'll be the first to say so.

If I was a stay-at-home mom or only worked part-time or something, that'd be different. Then I'd say most of the housework was my duty. But that's not the case. I work a 40-hour week and sometimes am freelancing after that. Therefore, the housework shouldn't fall totally on my shoulders. I think I'd faint if I saw Eric pick up a toilet brush. The toilets... that's always my job. Of course, he'd argue that I don't HAVE to do it. That's right. I could just choose not to clean them and then they'd be all nasty because neither he nor Zach would do it.

This morning wasn't a good morning. That damned trash can sitting at the top of the driveway pissed on my whole day.

No, I didn't. I love it though. I took the easy way out and found one I liked for free on the internet. It's less time consuming that way. :)
